McGahee Named to First Pro Bowl

January 30, 2008

Ravens RB Willis McGahee earned his 1st Pro Bowl after an injury to Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson. McGahee, who was a 2nd alternate, started all 15 games in which he played - missing only the season finale with broken ribs. He led the Ravens with a career-high 294 carries for 1,207 yards (4th in the AFC and 8th in the NFL), with a long of 46, and 7 TDs. McGahee also finished 3rd on the team with 43 receptions for 231 yards and a TD (all career highs). McGahee also led the Ravens with 66 1st-down conversions (56 rushing and 10 receiving), including 7 on 3rd down.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be going to the Pro Bowl, especially when your peers have a say in the matter,” said McGahee. “It is a goal that I have had for a long time, and I am going to enjoy every second of this. To be going with three other Ravens is also special. They always told me the first Pro Bowl is always the most special. I can’t wait to share this with my teammates.”
